Amanda Dowson is the Managing Director of Peritus Health Management. With specialist training in Occupational Health, Health, Safety and Environmental Management, Human Resource Management, Mentoring, and Practice Teaching, Amanda has worked in the field of Occupational Health since 1992 and has a wealth of experience in both the public and private sectors including:

Working as an Independent Occupational Health Provider since 2003, Amanda has supported Small and Medium Size Enterprises and Blue Chip International companies by delivering cost-effective Occupational Health services and advice. She is keen to ensure that excellent clinical standards and implementation of best practice benefits the customers and their employees alike. Amanda also supports student Occupational Health Advisors with training and placements within Peritus Health Management.

Amanda has worked with working parties of the Health and Safety Executive and Association of Colleges; and the Teacher Training Agency to produce national Guidance on Occupational Health in the Higher and Further Education Sector and the Disability Discrimination Act. She has delivered papers at National and Regional Conferences on:

  • Occupational Health in the Education Sector;
  • Occupational Health audit;
  • Musculo-Skeletal Disorders in the Workplace;
  • Stress Management;

Amanda is a member of the IOSH Yorkshire Branch Executive Committee and continues to support the group with her specialist knowledge within the field of Occupational Health.
